Wildlife in Kenya

We knew we'd see some amazing wildlife on our tour of Kenya,

but all the book-reading and travel show watching couldn't prepare us for the reality of it all.

From our safari van, we passed within meters of rhino, within feet of lions and within INCHES of giraffe.

Back at our home base of Keekorok Lodge, we were entertained by a steady stream of animals: hippos, baboons and birds of all kinds.

The one that sent us running was a bit smaller. It just sat there.

We wondered if it was dead- then it took off and FLEW ! It made a really loud buzzing noise...and WE made a loud screaming noise, that got quieter as we got further away...
